We have just returned from this hotel and what an experience we had. We booked a junior suite with private pool and we were not disappointed. We thought the pool would be quite small but in fact it was fine for the two of us. We also had proper sunbeds on our patio area. The bathroom was luxurious with a rainwater shower as sell as a separte Jacuzzi bath. We had fresh bottles of water left in our room every day. We had booked bed and breakfast and the breakfast was buffet style. Not only eggs and bacon but fresh fruit, breads, cakes, smorgasbord and plentiful tea, coffee and juices. (I'm now dieting!) The staff could not do enough for us. A big shout out to Odile who really looked after us in the main hotel and also to Maria, Tamika and Nina, the three servers in the Zephyr Restaurant who always greeted us with a smile and were very professional. The beach bar was quiet and away from the maiin pool area so you could sit with a drink and people watch or stare at the ocean. Plentiful sunbeds in the lush gardens and on the beach if you fancied a change of location. We had a fantastic holiday and cannot wait to go back. Would I stay here again? ~Absolutely!

I have just spent 5 nights at The Athena Beach Hotel with a friend, and absolutely loved it. Super friendly and helpful staff, great location and suitable for friends, solo travellers, families and honeymooners.

I have just spent 4 nights at The Athena Beach Hotel with a friend, and absolutely loved it. Super friendly and helpful staff, great location and suitable for friends, solo travellers, families and honeymooners. The hotel was super clean and I really loved the outdoor cinema in the evening which was by the beach, in the gardens. The hotel were incredibly diligent with COVID rules and regulations with plenty of sanitiser stations around the hotel. Go for the superior sea view rooms. Stunning views and you also get to dine in the VIP restaurants and late check out is included. You will receive a bottle of wine in the room for free.

Breakfast was exceptional, diner tasty. Room very good with side view. Only sea enter is a little complicated. Personal at the reception was very helpful, thank you! - As I mentioned above - better enter to the sea will be OK.

We visited the Athena Beach hotel under strange times but the warm welcome of previous visits was as good as ever. The staff especially Odile ,the duty manager, made us feel that this holiday would just as good as the ones that we have had in the past. All COVID-19 recommendations were explained to us any changes were communicated to all guests. The hotel was clean and the sun beds etc were positioned to respect social distancing. We can definitely say that this holiday was just as good as ones in previous years.

Where to start......I booked very last minute on a Thursday night for arrival on the Friday. Because of unfortunate timing the booking system was updated whilst I was mid 'transaction' and I couldn't book for the Friday night. Called the hotel and they were very accommodating in sorting this for me quickly, good start! Booked the elite/premium all inclusive and was not disappointed :-) Staff - Were all super friendly/helpful from the moment I arrived at the hotel. Reception staff always willing to help with queries, pool/maintenance/cleaning staff always had a smile for you and special shout out to all the staff in the restaurants/bars, they were great! Room - Premium sea facing 2nd floor room meant I had a cracking view every time I stepped out on to the balcony. Spacious room with all the amenities and a comfortable bed. Pool/Beach - Lovely pools with plenty of space between sun loungers and no problem at al either with getting a lounger/parasol. Same could be said for the small private beach, nice little space with floating jetties to get you into the water so you can avoid the rocks! Food/Drink - Brilliant! On the elite package you can take a la carte everyday in Zephyr restaurant and it was absolutely worth it, evening meals were very very good. Breakfast on elite package was also great, lots of choice. Same could also be said for the lunch in Leda, the buffet was fantastic and varied everyday. Plenty of in-between drinks/snacks available on the all inclusive as well. Some really good cocktails, wines and lots of non alcoholic to choose from as well, milkshakes, ice creams etc Location - 20 minute swift walk along the coastal path into Paphos centre. Hotel right on the beach, perfect location I normally don't do holidays on all inclusive nor just for doing 'nothing' but given the current struggles of pandemic that's exactly what I wanted to do and Athena Beach made it so easy and enjoyable! Loved it and I am sure at some point I will return, thank you :-)

Stayed here for a week with friends and overall the hotel ticks most boxes. Plenty of sun loungers around the pool, breakfasts and lunches were good, staff were generally polite & helpful. Our only slight negative was that dinner was always a disappointment in the main dining room - crowded, service was terrible (the staff were great but too few of them), food was often running out if you chose to eat after 9pm. The standard rooms were also quite small and felt dated. I thought probably a 3-3.5* hotel than 4 stars. That said, we had a great time and would recommend this hotel to others.

Food, service and cleanliness - Didn't realise the a la carte restaurant was available to all inclusive til near end of the stay. Guests allowed to play ball games in the pool and allowed to reserve sun beds.

Our thanks must go to all the staff (Reception/restaurants/shop/sunbed area/gardeners/cleaners) for working under such restrictions that we have never seen the like of before (and hope never to see again once the virus has been controlled). We did miss the warm greetings and conversations with the last General Manager, Mr Lambros, particularly after dinner in the evenings.   Sadly, this didn't happen during this visit with the current General Manager.   I also believe that Mr Lambros is due "Happy Birthday" comments soon and hope he still keeps up to date with reading these reviews. The hotel would benefit from the creation of an exclusive gender neutral disabled toilet facility (or even two), on the poolside level.   One on the bar/reception level would also be a benefit.   A lot of disabled people require assistance when using the toilet (I speak from personal experience) and at the moment the only option is to go back to our room.   I appreciate that there are disabled toilets within the gents/ladies, but it is not right to take your partner in with you for assistance.""

We have just returned from our fantastic holiday at the Athena Beach Hotel. Absolutely amazing time, we cannot Thank the staff enough for making this a memorable experience at this very difficult time. Odile, the duty manager welcomed us on our arrival and constantly checked on our holiday about our experience. Also a mention to Maria who at breakfast and dinner was always attentive and cheerful throughout our stay. Evangelos Panos was absolutely outstanding during our stay and we would like to give him an extra special mention. He was very helpful and extremely friendly and helpful especially with our various drinks. Overall all the staff made us very welcome during our stay. Laraine and I would like to Thank You all for making this holiday a truly wonderful trip. After now staying at various CBH hotels over the last 4 years in Paphos you have a great team who work for you. Efharisto Peter and Laraine Bathgate

We went to this hotel for my daughter's wedding. I can heartily recommend Jane, the wedding planner. She works for the hotel and was just great. Attention to detail, helpful, friendly, pro-active - she made the day fabulous for my daughter. The ceremony was conducted facing the sea, without being on the actual beach, a great view. The hotel was very COVID-safe, we had to wear masks in the restaurants but nowhere else, spotless, the staff were very friendly. Food was excellent and despite the under-occupancy there was still a good atmosphere. Great location, lovely walk along the seafront into Paphos. We had a great week there and were sorry to leave it. We would definitely stay there again or indeed at any other Constantinou Bros hotel. Top Marks.

For a 4 star plus hotel, and the prices they charge - we were a little disappointed. I didn’t know whether to give this 3* rating or 4* but it did get better as the holiday went on so I settled on 4*. The initial arrival greeting fell a bit flat, no one explained anything to us about the hotel or told us where to find any of the bars, restaurants or pools the hotel had to offer. The receptionist took our names, handed over the key and pointed us the lift, we had to find our own way to our room and bring our own cases too. Little things like a concierge would improve the first impressions of this hotel, I don’t know if it was because we had a late arrival or if this happens all the time but it was a disappointing first impression. You only get one key between a couple meaning you can’t ever do your own thing, must stay together, can’t go up to the room separately. The key is not electronic either, it’s a single metal key with a tag on it showing your room number - so if you drop the key then anyone can get into the room as they know your room number and hotel. We couldn’t use our safety deposit box on our first day as it was still locked from the previous occupants as staff hadn’t reset it. I called reception and was told we had to wait until 6pm for the duty manager to come up and reset it. Which meant we had nowhere safe to leave our passports, money, jewellery and electronics all day. 6pm came and no one showed up, at 6:20pm I received a call asking if they could come make up the room because the ‘do not disturb’ sign had been on the door all day. I explained I was still waiting for a manager to come and reset the safe, and explained the reason the do not disturb sign was on all day was because of the unusable safe. There was no apology or anything she just said due to COVID they need to make up the room everyday so they needed to come up. We didn’t mind this but in my opinion it is a little backwards, surely due to COVID you wouldn’t want staff entering rooms unnecessarily every single day if they didn’t have to? Like I said it’s not a problem and we don’t mind but this is the 3rd holiday we have been on since March and the other 2 hotels had the opposite policy in place - they wouldn’t do room service unless you specifically asked for it, to limit the number of people entering the room. Another thing staff didn’t tell us on arrival was that pool and beach towels are provided and where to find them (they’re under your bedside table FYI). There is no poolside service at this hotel, you have got to order your drinks at the bar and bring them back yourself, you also cannot eat by the pool EG lunches, you have got to go and sit in the restaurant. This isn’t a major fault it’s just we’re used to this being the ‘norm’ on our holidays being able to eat round the pool if we wanted and to have poolside service. The hotel is pleasant enough and looks great from the outside. The location is perfect, sat are right on the sea front and a lovely half an hour walk to the harbour. It is also walking distance to multiple delicious restaurants. We’ve stayed in Paphos multiple times and I would recommend Cavallini Italian, The Lodge South African Steakhouse, Namaste Indian, Chloes Chinese & Sail at Castle at the harbour. It is also only a short taxi ride to Pepperoni Pizza Italian Restaurant which is also worth a visit. We had a buffet lunch on our final day which was extortionately priced, it was €22 each and the offerings were less than impressive, we definitely didn’t eat €22 worth of food, and if we had known this was the price before then we wouldn’t have done the buffet. I do not recommend the lunch buffet. The shower was also broken in our room and hanging off the wall (see pic). The water is either boiling hot or freezing cold, there was no in between and the water pressure was also low. The staff service at Breakfast was disappointing, a few times it was like we were invisible. No greeting and no one came to ask if we wanted any drinks so we had to seek out a waiter to order. The staff in the hotel are not the friendliest either, sometimes it was rather awkward ordering things and asking questions. If you passed a maid in the corridor they never smiled back. It’s not necessarily being rude but sometimes treating us as an inconvenience. Everyday around the pool there is entertainment at 11am, aqua Zumba, cocktail making, making a Greek coffee, wine tasting and making a Frappacino were some we saw. Also everyday free slices of melon or watermelon is given out. One bonus was that we got a late check out free of charge, we were getting picked up for the airport at 7:30pm and we’re allowed to delay check out until 6pm completely free of charge with no need for a courtesy room. On our final day after we had checked out we had an hour and a half to sit and wait for our taxi. We sat in the bar and was told we could not order any drinks because we had checked out and the bar couldn’t take cash OR card payments either!!! Overall it was a nice holiday, just a few little things that spoilt it. You can see why this is a 4* and not a 5* hotel.

Arrived 28th September 2020 for a 7 night stay , Was meant to be in the Algarve , Late change of plan and booked the Athena Beach Hotel , turned out to be probably one of the best all inclusive hotels we have ever stayed in, From the minute you arrive and walk through the entrance the view of the sea is amazing, Reception staff were very professional and approachable and couldn't do enough to help. Room was spotless and cleaned to a very high standard every day, From breakfast that offers an amazing choice , Lunchtime didn't disappoint , Evening meal was Excellent, Massive and varied choice , The executive chef was very helpful, The whole restaurant was very professionally managed , lots of friendly accommodating staff, that couldn't do enough to help. The beach bar again was great, nothing was an issue, The Hotel bar again brilliant , we chose all inclusive which included premium brands , Vangellis the bar attendant / waiter, was brilliant and very helpful . The hotel was quiet due to the restrictions but spotlessly clean , The outdoor pools were great , indoor heated pool and a well stocked gym, Than you to everyone at ATHENA BEACH HOTEL you made our holiday one of the best and we will be back,

The hotel was excellent despite been very quiet due to Covid 19 - the staff from reception, catering etc were very friendly, helpful in everyone's needs and wishes. We had a party of 7 - and were married at the hotel - it was a very special day and everything went to plan - thanks to Leanne TUI wedding coordinator and Jayne Davies Wedding Manager at the hotel. we would recommend the hotel not only for a relaxing holiday close to the beach and a short walk to the harbour, but of course the detail to the weeding and the view of the beach.
